My Top Fashion Trends to Jump Start your Spring

Happy Friday everyone, Spring is finally here and if you're like me you can't wait to get out and enjoy the nice weather. Personally; it's one of my favorite seasons of the year for many reasons. As the weather gets nicer, outside activities become more frequent and it seems to just make people happier. During the springtime it's time to get rid of all the extra layers and exchange them for fun colors and lighter fabrics. I love to play around with new trends and switch up my closet from time to time so like everyone else I looked to Fashion Week to see what would be in for the year. Like every new season that comes along, this Spring is filled with new trends hot off the runway that are the talk of the fashion world. Here are my top four trends I'm loving and how to wear them to help start off your spring.

Lavender

One trend that flooded the fashion show runways for Spring 2018 were vibrant pastels. Pretty shades of pink, lint, and powder blues were everywhere. The color that stood out the most for me was the luscious shade of Lavender. This pretty shade of purple made my heart flutter with excitement. This color in a jacket or trench coat is perfect for early sunny weather. Paired with a pair of cute jeans, a blouse or light sweater, and a pair of ankle boots screams Spring while still keeping you cozy on chillier days.

Another way I would love to rock this color is for my more bolder ladies. Head to toe lavender and purple is a way to be loud and make a statement. The soft color is less saturated so its pleasing to the eye and not to mention just plain gorgeous on anyone. Not into either style and would rather go with something a little less in your face? A pop of color in the shade in accessories is another way to go. Make your more basic outfits stand out with a cute purse or jewelry.

The Art of Fashion

Art-inspired fashion popped up during Fashion Week and as someone who enjoys art I am all here for it. Different designers filled their designs with bold prints, cartoons, and well known works of art of painters and people. The trend made an appearance last year and it's back again. This is one to certainly give a try if you're in to it. I would wear this trend as a bag to give my outfit some definition or a custom denim jacket like this vogue inspired one I'm currently searching for. No matter how you choose to wear it, there will be compliments all around .

Sheer Bliss

Sheer styles in the form of jackets, skirts, and dresses had me with love at first sight. The idea of layering a sheer dress or shirt on top of other pieces had me swooning. Many designers presented looks featuring sheer tulle pieces layered over other ready-to-wear pieces and sheer on top of sheer. Layer a sheer skirt over the top of a mini skirt or a pair of cute shorts for the illusion of a covered up look while the peek of skin through the sheer fabric gives your outfit a sense of classiness. Layer it over jeans or for a more subtle look go for a sheer blouse. Be creative and have fun with it.

Mixed Prints

Fashion Week also showed us mixed prints on the runways. They showed up in bold colors and bold patterns. Although this trend is obviously not for those of limited imaginations, it can be done and look good if done the right way. Bold patterns and prints can be mixed and matched to create an exciting unique look. Polka dots and stripes or floral print and stripes for example are perfect ways to give this trend a try. The trick is to keep the prints in the same color family and make one dominant over the other to give your outfit balance. Another tip is to mix in neutrals to tone down the over all look.
